The Greater Perimeter Chamber announced that this year’s Sandy Spring State of the City address will be on Sept. 15, featuring updates on opportunities and challenges from longtime Mayor Rusty Paul.
The mayor’s annual citywide update will be in the Terrace Meeting Room at City Springs, 1 Galambos Way, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering community members and business leaders a firsthand look at Sandy Springs today and the vision guiding its future.
Tickets and what to expect
The business chamber partners with Sandy Springs to hold the annual state of the city luncheon, with several seating and sponsorship options for the public. For Greater Perimeter Chamber members, tickets are $40 and $60 for non-members.
The announcement said there is a limited number of complimentary seats for community members, free of charge, for those who want to attend the 12 p.m. address without a meal. Complimentary seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adam Forrand, president and CEO of the Greater Perimeter Chamber, said it’s important for community members and business leaders to hear directly from the mayor about the trends and developments shaping Sandy Springs.
“Mayor Paul and the City of Sandy Springs continue to demonstrate what is possible when a community has a clear vision for its future,” Forrand said. “Strong cities and strong business communities grow together, and Sandy Springs continues to be an important driver of economic opportunity throughout our region.”
The Central Perimeter business council also serves Dunwoody and Brookhaven in DeKalb County. The GPC uses business connections, advocacy, leadership development, and economic growth initiatives to strengthen the region.
Some topics Paul is expected to address include ongoing negotiations with Atlanta on water service, residential and commercial development trends, and public safety investments.
“The State of the City is an opportunity to look at how far Sandy Springs has come, but more importantly, to talk about where we are going together,” Paul said. “Each year, I look forward to celebrating our achievements, updating the community on key issues, and outlining our plans to address them.”
