The Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) is hosting a creative summit from Sept. 15-16 at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center at Morehouse College.
The event is called the Creative Entrepreneurship Summit Atlanta and is designed to connect and empower the independent music community, according to a press release. The event will bring together music publishers, songwriters, producers, artists, industry executives, and other music professionals.

The summit’s speakers include Grammy-Award winning producer Troy Taylor and songwriter Briana Shelko of Level Up Music Productions.
The summit’s programming will explore topics like music publishing, copyright, royalties and licensing, sync opportunities, artificial intelligence, music technology, artist wellness, brand partnerships, and more. There will be panels, listening sessions, sponsor presentations, networking opportunities, and performances.
“We provide networking, education and advocacy for creators and rights holders,” said AIMP President Tony Alexander in the release. “The Creative Entrepreneurship Summit is an opportunity to bring together the diverse voices and businesses that make up today’s independent music community while creating meaningful opportunities for education, collaboration and growth.”
Programming on Sept. 15 kicks off with breakfast at 10 a.m. Panels that day include Behind the Sync Placement: How Music Gets Licensed, Legendary Songwriting Panel, and Publishing Power: Protecting Your Catalog. Programming on Sept. 16 starts at noon. Panels that day include When Do You Need a Manager, Women That Get You Paid, and more.
Registration for AIMP members is free, according to the release. General admission tickets cost $125. Listening session slots are $125 and student pricing is $20. Registration can be completed online.
