Norcross is gearing up for public feedback on a comprehensive Safety Action Plan, funded by a federal grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets for All (SS4A) program.
The city invites residents, businesses and everyone who lives, works or spends time in the city to attend a first-ever public meeting for its Safety Action Plan on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Norcross Community Center at 10 College Street.

Community members are also encouraged to visit the project website, complete the digital survey, and sign up to receive updates about the plan and future engagement opportunities.
Safety plan details
Several of the city’s metro Atlanta neighbors have already completed the federal program, allowing them to seek additional federal funding for design and construction phases of infrastructure improvements.
The Safety Action Plan will identify ways to improve safety on city-owned roadways for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and drivers. The plan will focus on significantly reducing or eliminating traffic crashes that result in death or serious injury.
The federal program is based on the National Roadway Safety Strategy and the Safe System Approach, which recognizes that improving transportation safety requires investments in human behavior, the built environment, and technology.
The Norcross Safety Action Plan will combine traffic and demographic data, a comprehensive crash and safety analysis, public feedback, and the expertise of planning and transportation professionals.
Community participation plays an important role in shaping the plan. During the public meeting, attendees can learn more about the planning process and share their experiences, concerns, and ideas related to transportation safety in Norcross.
