James Beard award-winning chef Linton Hopkins and Hopkins & Company hospitality group will open Linton’s Bar and Grill in Buckhead next spring. 

The opening of Linton’s will also see the return of Hopkins & Company’s popular bakery-cafe, The Buttery. The Buttery closed in 2024 after four years in the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhood. 

Located within an office complex at the Buckhead Center, part of the Buckhead Village district, Linton’s will take over space previously occupied by Brio Tuscan Grille. The Buttery will adjoin the restaurant with a separate entrance. 

Linton’s will feature private events spaces, a dining room and bar, and a shared patio with The Buttery that overlooks Peachtree Road. 

Hopkins describes Linton’s as a casual, neighborhood place. People can grab sandwiches and salads for a quick weekday lunch, drop in for martinis, calamari, and tuna tartare on the patio after work, or make evening reservations for a steak dinner. 

Starting in the morning, the Buttery will offer coffee, pastries, desserts, and breads, as well as croissant sandwiches and grab-and-go meals.

Returning to Buckhead

Hopkins and wife and business partner Gina opened Restaurant Eugene at The Brookwood on Peachtree Road in Buckhead in 2004, followed by Holeman & Finch four years later in the same complex. Restaurant Eugene closed in 2019, with Holeman & Finch (known for its coveted late-night burger) closing a year later. It reopened at Colony Square in 2023.

But the success of both Buckhead restaurants led to the James Beard Foundation naming Hopkins Best Chef: Southeast in 2012, and to the formation of Hopkins & Company. The group now owns C. Ellet’s Steakhouse at the Battery, Holeman & Finch at Colony Square in Midtown, and H&F Bottle Shop in Buckhead, along with locations of H&F Burger and Hop’s Chicken.

Revamping Atlanta’s office buildings

Linton’s and The Buttery are the latest establishments to join the ongoing renovation of the Buckhead Center complex, owned by commercial real estate developer CP Group and investment firm Cohen & Steers. Chris Eachus, a founding partner at CP Group, said Linton’s and The Buttery fit the company’s goal of making the two-building office property feel more connected to the neighborhood. 

And this isn’t CP Group’s only iron in the fire in Atlanta. 

The group is also in the process of renovating the former CNN building in downtown Atlanta, which includes The CTR. The atrium-level food hall opened just days before the 2026 World Cup in Atlanta and features 11 restaurant stalls. 

Earlier this summer, CP Group announced it had partnered with New York-based Episcope Hospitality to open three food-driven spots inside the Bank of America building in Midtown. Plans call for a lobby restaurant and bar, a gourmet market and cafe, and a tenant-exclusive club located on the 37th floor.
