The Norcross Public Arts Commission is gearing up for phase two of the White Squirrels of Norcross, a community art installation featuring a series of small, white squirrel sculptures that create a guided art hunt throughout the city.
Following the successful launch of five White Squirrels in May, NPAC is nearly ready to introduce six new statues throughout Norcross, including the Women’s Library, Johnson Dean Forest Preserve, Lionheart Theatre, the South End area, and Veterans Memorial Park.
The public art project honors the leucistic white squirrels found throughout the city, especially near Norcross City Hall and Heritage Park.
Voting will conclude Monday, Sept. 28, according to NPAC’s Sept. 16 announcement.
“Now, we need your help choosing names for these new members of the community!” the announcement said. “Select your favorite name from the options provided for each squirrel and help us give these furry friends their own personalities. We can’t wait to introduce these new furry friends to the Norcross community!”
