The 2026 DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) Good Neighbor Day Airshow & Aviation/STEM Expo takes flight on Sept. 19, bringing an expanded afternoon and evening of aviation, education, and entertainment
This year’s event is one of the most ambitious editions of Good Neighbor Day since the community tradition began more than four decades ago, according to a release from the organization.
“With an expanded airshow, hands-on STEM activities, military participation, interactive exhibits, and a nighttime finale featuring illuminated aerial performances, a drone show, and fireworks, organizers are preparing for a full day at one of the nation’s busiest general aviation airports,” the announcement said.
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A new nighttime experience
For the first time, the event will continue after sunset as PDK transitions from a daytime airshow into a nighttime aviation spectacle.
As the skies grow dark, performers will take to the sky with lights and pyrotechnics before the evening culminates with a drone show and fireworks display.
Among the highlights will be the U.S. Army Golden Knights, who will perform two parachute demonstrations during the event.
The Golden Knights will jump during the daytime carrying four large American flags, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary. They will return after dark for a second jump, this time incorporating pyrotechnics and fireworks.
DeKalb County Fire Rescue will suspend a 50-by-30-foot American flag between two of the department’s ladder trucks, providing a backdrop to the day’s activities and marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, the announcement said.

Aviation meets education at the STEM expo
A major component of this year’s event is the expanded Aviation/STEM Expo, created to give young visitors a chance to do more than watch airplanes fly.
Throughout the afternoon, children and families will be able to take part in hands-on activities built around science, technology, engineering and math, while meeting organizations and professionals working in aviation, aerospace and related industries.
U.S. Air Force mission
Visitors will also be able to experience the U.S. Air Force Operation: Shockwave Immersive 4D Experience, an interactive mobile attraction that places guests in the middle of six U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force missions unfolding over a 24-hour period.
The exhibit features a 3D film, motion theater seats, immersive sensory effects and 360-degree surround sound, offering a firsthand look at how airmen and guardians operate around the globe.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and allow extra time for traffic, parking, and entry. Rideshare pickup is within walking distance of the airport, as is the MARTA Chamblee station.
The airport is located at 2000 Airport Road in Chamblee.
