The Bakery is celebrating nine years of creating inclusive, DIY arts spaces in Atlanta with Cloud Nine, an anniversary art party at The Supermarket on Friday, Oct. 9.

Since 2017, The Bakery has presented experiential, multidisciplinary programming alongside traditional white-wall exhibitions. As of 2023, The Bakery Atlanta is a non-profit arts services organization specializing in exhibitions, educational programming, and digital resources.

In 2024, The Bakery found a new home at The Supermarket, a 12,500 square-foot space in the Poncey-Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. The multi-purpose venue hosts The Bakery’s workshops and exhibitions.

Cloud Nine will be hosted by drag performers Tucker Alxndr and Yutoya Avazé Leon and will include music from Mother Hunger and DJs Jordy Wonderland and Dreaming Diary, karaoke with comedian Marietta Mendler, and sculptures and installations by Louisa Bristol and The Bakery team.

During the event, a group art exhibition will be on display. Home Grown showcases artists with the historically underrepresented art forms in the craft and folk realms. The exhibit will remain on display until Oct. 11.

Cloud Nine will serve as a fundraiser for the non-profit organization. Attendees interested in offering extra support can make an additional donation while purchasing tickets or opt for the supporter ticket option, which includes Bakery merchandise.

Cloud Nine runs from 8 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 9. General admission tickets are $21.24, and supporter tickets are $103.74. Tickets can be purchased on The Bakery’s website.
