Atlanta Streets Alive returns Sunday, Oct. 18, bringing a car-free afternoon to West End and Grant Park.

The free event will run from 2 to 6 p.m. along Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Georgia Avenue, temporarily transforming portions of the streets into public spaces for walking, biking, skating, dancing and other activities.

The route connects several southwest Atlanta neighborhoods, including Historic West End, Westview, Adair Park, Pittsburgh, Mechanicsville, and Summerhill.

The event is organized by the Atlanta Department of Transportation with support from Propel ATL and other community partners.

Organizers encourage visitors to walk, bike, or use public transportation to reach the event. Street closures are scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. Drivers should plan alternate routes and avoid parking along the affected streets.

This is the penultimate event before the finale in conjunction with the Westside Stride on Nov. 8.
