OUT Local, a new app dedicated to LGBTQ+ nightlife in Atlanta, is hosting BreakOUT ATL, a citywide queer talent competition.

Singers, dancers, comedians, burlesque and drag performers will compete over several rounds to win a $5,000 cash prize and a free cruise for two, courtesy of Big Gay Cruise.

Sixty performers selected from applicants will compete in three nights of auditions at the Supermarket on Nov. 11, 16, and 25.

Each audition night will feature 20 performers, each getting two minutes to perform their talent to a panel of three judges. The judges will advance five performers per show, and an additional performer per show will advance through live audience voting on the OUT Local app.

The auditions are free to attend and begin at 6 p.m.

The 18 performers selected will then move on to the semi-finals at Lips Atlanta on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m., and the competition will culminate in a grand finale of 10 performers at Out Front Theatre on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets to these performances begin at $19.28.

During each event, Buddy Buddy will give away a $100 gift to card to one audience member.

Applications for the BreakOUT ATL queer talent competition are open now through Oct. 31. Selected contestants will be notified by Nov. 2.
