Former hosts of the popular morning radio show “The Bert Show” are launching two new podcasts in a shift away from traditional broadcast radio.

Bert Weiss and Kristin Klingshirn are both set to launch separate podcasts over the next week, according to a press release. Weiss is starting a travel podcast with his wife, photographer Amanda Weiss, called “Trip Happens with Bert Weiss and Amanda Weiss” on Oct. 29. Klingshirn is starting a daily topic show called “Barely Functioning with Kristin Klingshirn” on Nov. 2.

Weiss initially started “The Bert Show” in 2001 on the local radio station Q100 (now Q99.7) before the show became nationally syndicated later in its tenure. He retired from the show in October of 2025.

Klingshirn joined the show in 2011, and began hosting “The Kristin Show” on Q99.7 in January of 2026 after “The Bert Show” ended. “The Kristin Show” ended when Klingshirn was let go from Cumulus Media in August.

The podcasts come from the digital media company Pionaire, of which Weiss serves as CEO and president.

On “Trip Happens with Bert Weiss and Amanda Weiss,” the couple hopes to make travel feel less intimidating and more fun for world travelers and non-travelers alike.

“I’m so grateful for my time in radio,” Weiss said in the release. “I got to build relationships with listeners that lasted decades. What a gift! That doesn’t go away just because the technology changes. Now, we take what made radio so special and build it for the way people consume entertainment today. Now we get to marry the conversations we’re truly passionate about and deliver them to an audience when it’s convenient for them to listen.”

On “Barely Functioning with Kristin Klingshirn,” Klingshirn will focus on viral topics and life stories, according to the release. Weiss will join Klingshirn on the first episode to talk about life, culture, relationships, and more.

“Radio has been good to me for the last 23 years,” Klingshirn said in the release. “Now I’m hoping the podcast world will embrace me. Same woman, same boisterous laugh, just a new platform. I want to continue to connect and what better way than through a podcast. It’s also pretty convenient my best friend [Bert Weiss] has a podcast network and he also believes in me.”

“Trip Happens with Bert Weiss and Amanda Weiss” and “Barely Functioning with Kristin Klingshirn,” will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and all major podcast platforms.
