MARTA Police have arrested the suspect wanted in a May 24 stabbing at Georgia State Station.
According to a press release, officers with MARTA’s Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) arrested the suspect on June 15 at the Vine City Station.
On May 24, the MARTA Police Department (MPD) Communications Center received a report of a person stabbed following a fight on the concourse level of Georgia State Station.
The victim was identified as Xavier Clark, 40, who sustained non-life-threatening wounds to the upper chest, arm, back, and knee. The investigation determined that Clark initially struck the suspect in the face, resulting in a physical altercation. Charges are pending against him for his role in the altercation.
On Monday at approximately 1:23 p.m., members of the CAT observed a male matching the description of the wanted suspect at Vine City. Officers safely took the individual into custody and positively identified him as Quinton Sharp, 36.
At the time of his arrest, Sharp was found to be in possession of a knife. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a Felony. Sharp was also issued a permanent MARTA ban.
