Solutions Not Punishments Collaborative (SnapCo.) is celebrating 13 years of Black trans-led organizing, collective care, cultural power, and community safety at the Biennial SnapCo. Forever Gala on Saturday, Aug. 8.
The event will bring together community members, elected officials, partners, artists, and activities to celebrate the people and partnerships that have shaped the organization.
The gala’s “Paradise” theme reflects the world Black trans and queer communities have built through care and collective power.
“We are responding directly to a political climate, society and deeper moment, where Black trans lives continue to be at the center of harm as Black Trans and queer people are being murdered, over-policed, and denied their basic humanity,” Toni-Michelle Williams, the executive director of SnapCo., said. “When they build a Cop City, we respond by building and defining a providential paradise for us, by us. We gather to celebrate our community because it is both necessary and powerful. This night is about honoring the people whose vision, labor and love contributed to the vibrancy and culture of Atlanta and beyond over the last 13 years because our history matters.”

The gala will feature special performances, community honors, and storytelling that reflects SnapCo.’s impact and vision. SnapCo. leadership will also make an exciting announcement about the organization’s future during the event.
The SnapCo. Forever Paradise Gala starts at 7 p.m. on August 8 at Center Stage. Tickets start at $127.40 and can be purchased on the organization’s website.
