On the morning of June 30, a police car sat in the driveway of a house on Kitty Hawk Drive in Sandy Springs. But the house looked different than it did just a week before (below). Although still condemned, gone was the tall grass and vines that nearly covered the house June 22, when Sandy Springs police and firefighters removed the home’s semi-conscious owner from her debris-filled bedroom and took her to Northside Hospital for treatment. Sandy Springs Director of Code Enforcement Marcus Kellum said the woman’s relatives hired A-1 BIO-Clean Service to clean the house and that neighbors cut the grass. “It’s coming along,” Kellum said. He expected the city to lift the condemnation order July 2, if the house passes inspection. No information about the woman’s medical condition was available. She was identified in a police report as Emily Minter.
