Community members in Tucker took to Main Street on Saturday, May 2, for Tucker Day, an annual festival hosted by the Main Street Tucker Alliance.
The festivities kicked off with a parade featuring community leaders, organizations, and schools. Participants included the parade’s grand marshal, Mayor Anne Lerner; middle school and high school marching bands; arts organizations like Main Street Theatre and Expressions in Motion Dance; and the Seed and Feed Marching Band.
Families also marched in support of Brockett, Evansdale, and Henderson Mill elementary schools, all of which had been proposed to close with the DeKalb County School District’s Student Assignment Project.
Tucker Day continued on Main Street throughout Saturday with local vendors, three stages of live entertainment, a beer and wine festival, and family-friendly events. Proceeds generated by the festival will go toward improvements to Main Street and downtown Tucker.
