The Sandy Springs Police Department is looking for a man who tried to rob a Sandy Springs drug store.
Around 8 a.m. on Sept. 9, a man entered the CVS pharmacy located at 6330 Roswell Road, near the intersection of Sandy Springs Circle.
The man told the pharmacist he wanted the prescription painkillers OxyContin and Dilaudid. Police said the man gave the pharmacist a note that said “this was no joke” and that he had a gun.
Police believe the man was under the influence of drugs.
When the store manager approached the man, police said he ran from the store and left the CVS in a green, four-door Kia Rio. The car had no license plate, police said.
Police said the man was wearing a black shirt with a hood, tan cargo pants and running shoes. The suspect is approximately 25 years old and around six-feet, one-inch tall. Police described him as stocky.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Ryan Finley at (770) 551-3310.
The man is considered dangerous, police said.
