The $10 million Buckhead estate, Sterling Hall (1001 W. Paces Ferry Rd.), will be open for estate tours through Dec. 19, with all proceeds benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and its AFLAC Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service.

Custom-designed millwork, hand crafted boiseries, 14-karat gold finishes, Waterford crystal chandeliers, limestone floors and walls, hand-cut stone mosaics, and Calacatta Gold marbles grace the 7-bedroom, 11-bath home, which includes a theatre, created to resemble the Fox Theatre, a wine cellar, fitness center, hair salon, billiard room, spa with sauna and steam room.

The home is owned by David Karangu, who credits builder Steven West of Steven West Custom Homes, and interior designer Shane Meder of Black Sheep Interiors, and Magd Riad of Marmi Natural Stone with its design and completion.

Karangu, whose son has been a patient at the Center and is now recovering from aplastic anemia, applauded “the dedication of the AFLAC Center’s physicians and staff and their innovative care.  We are fortunate that such an important medical center exists in Georgia, but not all young patients can afford treatment.  My wife Jane and I are privileged to open Sterling Hall for tours, to raise funds to aid in the continuation of the AFLAC Center’s research and practice.”

Sterling Hall is open to the public 7 days a week, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday, and noon – 5 p.m. on Sundays.  Tickets, at a donation of $25 per person, may be purchased at the door.  For advance tickets or more information, visit www.sterlinghalltour.com or email info@sterlinghalltour.com.  Free parking is available at Post Properties, (4403 Northside Pkwy), with shuttle service every 10 minutes to and from the estate.
