fashionshowAtlanta Medical Center has surpassed 5,000 bariatric, or weight-loss, surgeries since the program first started in 1999. In celebration of this milestone, the hospital is hosting a fashion show on Saturday, Jan. 29,  at 1 p.m. in the AMC Wellness Center at the Highland Athletic Club, featuring successful weight-loss patients as the fashion models. The event is open to the public, but space is limited; individuals can register to attend by calling (404) 265-DOCS.

“I’d be lying if I said the process was easy,” said Andy Weekes, a former patient who will be in attendance Saturday. “But I made it through with encouragement and support of all the doctors and staff. They are with me every step of the way as I continue my lifestyle transformation.”

Atlanta Medical Center regularly hosts weekend seminars to educate the public on the dangers of morbid obesity and the solutions available at AMC. Individuals should call 404-265-DOCS to register to attend the fashion show on Saturday, Jan. 29, or to learn more about weight-loss surgery at Atlanta Medical Center.
