Sandy Springs will hold a special election March 15 to replace former City Councilwoman Ashley Jenkins, who resigned her seat.
Sandy Springs City Council unanimously approved the date during its meeting Feb. 1. Candidates wanting to run for the seat may file for election with the city clerk Feb. 7 through Feb. 11.
The city will hire the Fulton County’s Department of Registration & Elections to run the election, which is expected to cost $15,400, City Attorney Wendell Willard wrote in a memo to the council. If a runoff is required, the cost would rise to $29,645, the city attorney said in the memo.
