A third candidate has filed to run in the March 15 special election for the District 4 seat on the Sandy Springs City Council, the city reported.

Dennis E. Williams, a 55-year-old businessman, filed to run for the seat vacated by the resignation of City Councilwoman Ashley Jenkins.

“I have lived in the Sandy Springs community the last 16 years. I like what’s going on. I’m a big fan of the city,” Williams said. “I’d like to give back to the community.”

Filing for the election closed Feb. 11. It opened Feb. 7. That day, two candidates– Chiteka Jackson and Gabriel Sterling – announced they would run for the seat.
