The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
Assault
2000 block of Peachtree Road, NE – Aggravated assault was reported at an apartment complex on May 29. The victim said that her live-in boyfriend assaulted her after a verbal dispute. The boyfriend smacked the woman in the face with a wet towel. She said that she pushed the boyfriend away, and he grabbed her and pushed her against a table and hit her on the left side of her face with a closed fist. The suspect then began punching the victim in the back, a total of three times, and he kicked her in both thighs. The suspect left.
Burglary
1000 block of Huff Road, NW – A residential burglary at an apartment complex at this location was reported on June 1. The suspect kicked in the front door to the apartment. Items taken included: $9,000 in money orders, $1,700 in cash, and a check book containing check numbers 340-370.
2000 block of Bolton Drive, NW – A burglary was reported at an apartment complex on June 2. The reporting person said that in the morning when she went to the apartment, she saw there was a large hole in the sheetrock and the water heater had been stolen.
2000 block of Bolton Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 2. The reporting person said that while he was checking the property, he witnessed two men loading metal piping into a black and gray pickup truck. He then checked inside the building and noticed that the piping had been removed.
2100 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 3. The suspect(s) entered the victim’s apartment through either a rear door which was unlocked, or a window which was slightly open. An Xbox, Macbook, external hard drive, laptop case, Canon digital camera, Sony digital camera and $40 were stolen.
2100 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 3. The suspect(s) entered the victim’s apartment through either a window or the rear door. A Dell laptop computer, Nintendo Wii, an electronic picture frame and $300 were taken.
Robbery
3400 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A commercial robbery was reported on May 29. A man with his face covered and wearing gloves, forced the manager at gun point to open the safe. The man took approximately $500 from the safe.
700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – Robbery of a pedestrian was reported on the evening of May 30. A man was robbed at gunpoint outside of a gas station by two men. One man was followed on the highway, stopped, and arrested without incident.
3000 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial robbery was reported at this location on May 30. Two men entered a gas station and robbed the cashier of approximately $200. The suspects put the cashier in the office and removed a telephone from the office so he could not call 911. No injuries to the cashier.
2400 block of Coronet Way, NW – Robbery of a pedestrian at an apartment complex was reported at this location on the morning of June 2. Three victims said that they were robbed at gunpoint by two males while they were standing outside the apartment building. The victims were robbed of their cellphones, wallets and keys.
2000 block of Bolton Drive, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported at this location on June 4. The victim said he was walking home when he was approached by a man asking for a dollar. The victim told the man he had no money and continued walking home. The victim noticed the male following him along with two other men. The victim began running and the men followed, taking his backpack, wallet and various types of soaps.
Larceny
2600 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny at an apartment complex at this location was reported on May 27. The victim hired a moving company to move her belongings to her new home. The victim specifically asked for her electronics not to be moved, that she would move them herself. During the course of the move, the victim went back and forth between the locations and items came up missing, including a camera, camera equipment and laptop.
50 block of Peachtree Park Drive, NE – A larceny from an apartment at this location was reported on May 31. The victim said that while she was taking a shower in another room outside of her apartment, someone took $100 out of her purse that is kept on a table inside of her apartment. No witnesses.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a gas station was reported at this location on June 1. A man went into the gas station and bought a cup of ice, then went to the sink to get some water. He then approached the register and paid $1 for the water. The suspect then threw the cup of ice water into the clerk’s face and snatched the cash register from the counter. The cash register contained about $250.
3300 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from a restaurant was reported on the evening of June 1. Three suspects sat down and ate dinner and then attempted to leave the restaurant without paying their bill. Two subjects were detained and charged. The third suspect left.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a grocery store at this location was reported on June 1. The accused entered the store and took a box of wings and some milk, then concealed the items in a bag and attempted to leave the store without paying.
3500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an apartment at this location was reported on June 1. The victim said when she checked her purse in the morning she discovered that $80 and her bank ATM card were missing. The victim said there were several people in her apartment the previous night when she went to bed.
2200 block of Bolton Road, NW – A larceny at a church at this location was reported on June 1. The victim said she placed her purse on the floor next to the piano while working in the church nursery. She later was told that someone had opened her purse. When the victim checked her purse she noticed her wallet had been taken.
2400 block of Camella Lane, NE – A larceny at an apartment complex at this location was reported on June 2. The victim’s bicycle, which was chained, was taken from his patio. The bike chain was also gone.
1300 block of Boyd Avenue, NW – A larceny at an office building was reported at this location on June 2. The reporting person said that someone damaged the mailbox and took several pieces of mail from the mailbox. The reporting person also said she was advised someone attempted to cash a check for $625.40 at the SunTrust bank that was taken from the mailbox.
2600 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from a residence at this location was reported on June 3. The victim said some of her jewelry, valued at about $9,500, had been taken from her jewelry box. She said that she remembered seeing her three missing pieces of jewelry before she left town. She said when she returned, she noticed some of her jewelry had been moved around. The victim does have an insurance policy. There was no forced entry to the apartment. Her boyfriend, who was staying at the apartment while she was gone, said nothing out of the ordinary occurred while he was there. The jewelry box was made of a cotton-like fabric, so no prints were lifted.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store at this location was reported on June 3. A witness saw two suspects stealing three Playstation games, a DVD and a pack of Bubble Stick. The one suspect placed all of the items in her purse, and then passed all points of sale without paying. Both suspects were arrested. Total value of the stolen items: $78.92.
3200 block of Cains Hill Place, NW – A larceny at a nightclub at this location was reported on June 4. The victim said he was at the bar and went to the restroom, and when he left the stall he forgot his phone. He said he remembered and went back for it but it was no longer there. Several people entered the restroom at the same time he exited the stall.
Larceny from Vehicle
2200 block of Parkview Court, NW – A larceny from an auto parked in the driveway of a residence was reported on June 3. The victim’s 2010 Ford Explorer was entered by an unknown method and a semi-automatic pistol, money, cellphone, iPod and GPS system were taken.
1900 block of Greystone Road, NW – A larceny from an auto at this location was reported on the morning of June 4. The victim said when he returned to his unlocked car, his DVD/navigation/radio, along with his owner’s manual, registration and insurance papers were taken.
900 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage on was reported on June 4. The victim said she locked her vehicle and when she returned, her purse had been taken. A witness saw the suspect climb through the passenger side and leave through the driver’s door. A credit card that was in the purse was used at a gas station.
Auto Theft
1700 block of Annie Street, NW – An auto theft from a parking lot was reported on May 31. A van belonging to a church organization, which was parked in the church‘s lot, was stolen sometime between May 25-29.
2300 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – Am auto theft was reported at this location on June 4. A traffic stop was initiated on a Range Rover with a South Carolina license plate, which ended up belonging to a Mercedes-Benz. The VIN was checked, and the reporting officer was told that the vehicle was confirmed stolen from Jasper County. The dr
