Several local news outlets, including CBS Atlanta and the Atlanta Journal Constitution are reporting this morning that the State Board of Education will give the troubled school board until November to settle its accreditation issues with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
District 4 School Board Member Nancy Meister said, “I am pleased with the agreement that was reached with the SBOE. It allows the district to remain focused on the significant challenges at hand, without more disruption. The ABE has made significant progress and will continue to work to exceed the six recommendations SACS has asked us to complete.”
