Atlanta Pride was forced to cancel Saturday’s entertainment and events in Piedmont Park due to Hurricane Isaias, but Sunday’s parade and activities are set to go ahead as scheduled.
In a social media post, organizers said, “Atlanta, did you really think we’d let a hurricane keep us quiet? Sunday is ON, and we’re going Louder & Prouder than ever.”
The Pride Parade will step off noon from the Civic Center MARTA Station and make its way north on Peachtree Street to 10th Street where it will turn right and head to the park.
The marketplace will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a modified entertainment schedule will include Aryee the Gem, Zee Machine, Cain Culto, A Chaka Moment…In The Park, Starlight Cabaret w/special guest Shea Couleé, and JT to close out the night.
On the Community Stage, there will be performances from New Weirdos, Libbaloops, Shooting Stars Cabaret, Your Ex’s Pets, Sweet Tea: A Queer Variety Show and the Queer Your Gender Dance Party.
Saturday Premium Passes will be honored on Sunday, organizers said.
