Norcross is holding its annual “Biketober” celebration on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3-6 p.m., a roughly 3-mile group bike ride through the city’s historic downtown district.

Pedal Norcross, free with registration, is a partnership between the city government and a local nonprofit to celebrate safe, sustainable transportation.

The family-friendly event has free bike and helmet rentals from Aztec Cycles, a practice riding loop, vendor booths, and activities for all ages, including Georgia Commute Options and King of Pops.

Check-in and bike tune-ups are available, starting at 2 p.m. at Bearings Bike Works at 983 Murphy Street, before a pre-ride stretch at 3 p.m.

The group ride begins and ends at Norcross City Hall near the intersection of Lawrenceville and Jones streets, and includes a water break at Cultivation Brewing off Langford Drive. There will be live music, a prize drawing, and several community vendor and nonprofit booths.

Participants need to register in advance to secure a spot for an afternoon of biking, fun, and exploring downtown Norcross.
