A vote on selling alcohol in stores is one of the issues on tap for the Sandy Springs City Council on Aug. 2. The meeting starts at 6 p.m., and the council will discuss putting Sunday sales in stores during its work session immediately after the regular meeting.
The council may eventually decide to put the issue before voters on the November ballot, council members have said.
Also on the work session agenda is a discussion about the city advertising its legal notices in the Sandy Springs Reporter and Sandy Springs Neighbor newspapers. The city currently publishes legal notices in The Fulton County Daily Report. The Sandy Springs Reporter is part of Reporter Newspapers, which publishes papers in Buckhead, Brookhaven and Dunwoody.
