It was a day to be recognized for many officials attending the Buckhead Business Association luncheon on Jan. 19, held at the Atlanta History Center. The keynote speaker was former Atlanta mayor Ambassador Andrew Young. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed also attended.
Former Atlanta mayor and Buckhead Coalition President Sam Massell received the inaugural “Sam Massell Leadership Award,” Dr. Michaela McKenzie with Dazzling Smiles took home the Buckhead Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse walked away with the big prize: The 2011 Buckhead Business of the Year Award.
Lolita Browning Jackson, the outgoing Buckhead Business Association President, praised her fellow BBA members.
“We’ve struggled in a poor economy, but we’ve triumphed in a poor economy by supporting each other’s businesses,” she said. “It could not have been done without every member of our organization and without the Buckhead community.”
