Less than a year after announcing a program to give Atlanta Police Officers a financial incentive to move to Buckhead, the agency offering the grants reports it is meeting its goals.
The Buckhead Coalition on Friday, May 4, said eight officers have taken advantage of the $3,000 grant, which includes $2,000 from the coalition and $1,000 from the Atlanta Police Foundation. The coalition budgeted for 10. The coalition and other community groups believe the presence of officers living within the community will reduce crime.
In a press release, Coalition president Sam Massell said “it’s worth a bonus to make this happen.”
