A $1 million grant has been awarded to the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts for streetscape and transportation improvements on Lake Hearn Drive and Peachtree-Dunwoody Road.

The Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank grant, announced June 21 at the state Capitol, was among a dozen awarded to metro Atlanta community improvement districts for transportation improvements, PCIDs said in a press release. More than $8 million was awarded through the program, which is administered by the State Road and Tollway Authority.

“This grant will be used for preliminary engineering, design and right-of-way acquisition to make roadway, pedestrian and bicycle improvements that will complete the full system of transportation improvements from Ashford Dunwoody Road and I-285 to the Hammond Half-Diamond Interchange at Georgia 400,” PCIDs president and CEO Yvonne Williams said in the announcement.
