The city of Dunwoody has completed a web viewer for its Geographic Information System.
Known as GIS, the system allows users to go online and view maps of the city. Property information can be found using address, owner information or tax parcel ID.
Officials said the database has been built up over three years and includes GIS “layers” such as aerial photos, parcels, street centerlines, hydrology, zoning and storm water.
“This is just the beginning of what we’re going to be able to do over time,” City Manager Warren Hutmacher said. “GIS is the future. Citizens will benefit as we add layer after layer over time.”
