DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA, Reporter Newspapers Broadcast Partner) –
Attorneys for Andrea Sneiderman asked a DeKalb County judge to remove Joseph Dell from the state’s witness list on Thursday.
“These two people are friends, that’s their businesses – nobody else,” said attorney Thomas Clegg.
Andrea Sneiderman is accused of conspiring with her boss to kill her husband Rusty Sneiderman.
Hemy Neuman is serving a life sentence for shooting Rusty Sneiderman outside a Dunwoody day care in November 2010.
Andrea Sneiderman has denied any involvement in her husband’s murder and she’s denied any relationship with Neuman.
On Tuesday prosecutors added new charges in their indictment against Andrea Sneiderman.
“The new indictment focuses on an alleged romantic relationship between Hemy Neuman and Andrea Sneiderman which we contend did not exist,” said Clegg. “It has absolutely nothing to do with Joseph Dell?”
DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James told the judge Dell had numerous phone conversations with Andrea Sneiderman while she was in jail.
“Counsel asked us to put or shut up. The appropriate time is during trial. I have no intention of trying this case here before the court or the media,” said James.
