The show, adapted by Jon Ludwig and directed by Spencer Stevens, will run April 11 to May 26. The Center for Puppetry Arts will also be giving coupons for a free visit to The Wren’s Nest to attendees.
Based on a collection of Southern African American tales documented by Joel Chandler Harris, Brer Rabbit & Friends is the story of a group of country cousins whose innocent early morning gathering results in a battle of brains versus brawn. This sprightly competition of the ego invites audiences to see who is the swiftest, the strongest and the smartest as Brer Bear, Brer Fox, Brer Rabbit, Sister Mud Turtle and Sister Bird try to navigate their way out of a prickly patch of trouble.
