A proposed 5-mile trail running alongside Georgia 400 has all the funding it needs to begin its first phase of construction.

Livable Buckhead issued a press release announcing the Buckhead Community Improvement District has pledged $2 million toward the project, recently dubbed PATH400.

In a press release, Livable Buckhead reports that the contribution, in addition to a transportation grant, provides enough funds to begin constructing the portion of the trail from Lenox Road to Old Ivy Road.

Construction is expected to begin in January.

When finished, PATH400 will begin at Loridans Drive and connect to the Atlanta BeltLine.

“We are very grateful to the Buckhead CID for its generous support of PATH400,” Livable Buckhead Executive Director Denise Starling said in a press release. “This donation is critical, not just in monetary terms, but also because of the strong support from the local business community that it represents.”
