The Sandy Springs Police Department partners with our citizens by way of multiple community outreach programs that serve to develop a strong bond between the public and the police.
A Business Watch Program is offered by the SSPD to the more than 6,000 businesses in the city. This program is based on the Neighborhood Watch Program that we have all become familiar with.
It’s all about communication and education. The businesses communicate with each other and the SSPD. The SSPD will educate the businesses on how to reduce theft and safeguard employees and customers.
The new feature of this program is looking into how well a business is set up for emergencies. We will ask to see the floor plans and layout of a business to help us if we have to respond to an emergency at your location. We will also go over how police will respond and what to expect from us in an emergency situation.
