Calling themselves the “clean sweep candidates,” three long-time Dunwoody residents declared their intention to run for seats on Dunwoody City Council.
Jim Riticher, Henly Shelton and Sam Eads said they plan to run as a slate of candidates. Riticher said he plans to run in District 2. Shelton said he will run in District 1 and Eads said he will file for election in District 3.
Riticher announced their candidacies at the City Council meeting July 22, saying the three were “dedicated to basic and practical improvements and common-sense solutions favored by a majority of Dunwoody residents.”
“We are independent businessmen with a unique set of management and business skills,” Riticher said, reading from a prepared statement. “We are nonpartisan candidates and we are not members of – or beholden to – any organization or government agency. … We intend to restore trust and confidence in Dunwoody city government.”
Incumbent Councilmen Denis Shortal and Doug Thompson have announced their intention to run for re-election in Districts 1 and 3, respectively.
Incumbent District 2 Councilwoman Adrian Bonser also is reaching the end of her term, but has not publicly announced whether she will seek re-election. Dunwoody Homeowners Association board member Heyward Wescott has announced he will run for the District 2 seat.
