FLIP has announced it will shutter hot dog emporium HD1 and convert the Poncey-Highland space at 644 N. Highland Ave. into the 4th location of Chef Richard Blais’ burger boutique. HD1 will close this Sunday, Aug. 18, after dinner service and it’s expected to take eight to 10 weeks to flip the space into FLIP.
“We are fully committed to growing the FLIP brand and expanding our strong reputation for innovative food in a high energy and fun environment. Moving forward, FLIP burger boutique will be our primary focus,” said co-owner Barry Mills in a statement to the media.
The rooftop patio planned for HD1 will finally open and there will also be valet parking.
“It’s an exciting period of growth for FLIP and the demand for gourmet burgers is at an all time high,” said Blais. “At the Poncey-Highland location we will infuse our signature burgers, shakes and sides to the menu while paying homage to the best-of-the-best in HD1 hot dogs.”
