The arrest of a suspect in a rash of high profile silver thefts in Buckhead has made the New York Times. Police arrested Blane Nordahl early Monday in Hilliard, Fla., the Times reported. He is suspected of committing crimes throughout the South, including Buckhead, as well as robbing celebrities like Ivana Trump. The Times piece says Nordahl had a taste for rare items and Civil War artifacts, too.
Earlier this month, the Atlanta Police Department recovered $100,000 in silver taken during burglaries in Buckhead, four other metro jurisdictions and two states. The APD also arrested Farhana Sultan for theft by receiving stolen property.
