A Georgia Tech student who belongs to the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity is under investigation by the university for writing and distributing an email titled “Luring Your Rapebait.” The student offer tips to fellow fraternity members on how to lure girls into sex by plying them with alcohol.

Jezebel magazine picked up on the email yesterday and it is going viral on the Internet, with reports appearing in national and international publications including the Daily Mail in the UK. You can read the full email at Jezebel, but but be warned there is explicit language.

Georgia Tech released this statement about the incident:

“Georgia Tech is aware of this incident, and its Office of Student Integrity is currently engaged in an investigation to determine the facts. Phi Kappa Tau’s national office, as well as Tech’s student-led Interfraternity Council, are also reviewing the matter to determine whether to take any independent action. The Institute does not condone this type of behavior and continues to provide resources and education designed to create a supportive campus environment for all students, even those who exercise extremely poor judgment.”
