Cobb County government officials finalized details late Tuesday afternoon for a Memorandum of Understanding between the county and the Atlanta Braves. That MOU, if approved by county commissioners on Nov 26, would make official the Braves move to Cobb County. To view the MOU in its entirety, visit this link.
In the meantime, movements are growing for and against the proposed relocation of the team to Cobb County, according to a report from our affiliate CBS Atlanta.
Common Cause Georgia, a government watch dog group, has called on Cobb elected officials to hold a county-wide referendum so that voters can have the chance to approve or deny the allocation of tax dollars for a new $672 million stadium. Meanwhile, the Atlanta City Council voted on Monday to come up with $200 million to revamp Turner Field in case the Cobb deal falls through.
