Public hearings on street abandonments to make way for the new Falcons stadium have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25, 9:30 a.m. in Committee Room 2 at Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave.

Portions of Mangum Street, Hunter Street, Mitchell Street and Elliott Street are scheduled for destruction to make way for the new stadium on the west side of Downtown Atlanta.

Residents in the area were outraged earlier this month when work began on the realignment of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to make way for the new stadium. A portion of the MLK Drive viaduct between Spring Street and Northside Drive has already been demolished, according to a report in Creative Loafing.
