A public information session held Monday night at Atlanta City Hall gave residents and other stakeholders the opportunity to see plans for a bold new Memorial Drive corridor stretching from Downtown to Stone Mountain. The Imagine Memorial concept comes from a group of students studying urban design at Georgia Tech.

The plan calls for major street improvements for motorists and pedestrians, transit routes, parks and identifies vacant and abandoned property that could be redeveloped. Atlanta City Councilmember Natalyn Archibong, who hosted the meeting, is supporting the effort to finally see the corridor revitalized.

You can see the current Imagine Memorial plans in a Flipbook created by the Georgia Tech students at this link. You can also add your thoughts and interact with students at the Imagine Memorial Studio Facebook page.
