Active Dunwoody is bringing a creative twist to community movement with its free
Doorwoody Scavenger Hunt on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The event will start at Vintage Pizzeria, with participants walking or running through Dunwoody Village, solving clues, completing challenges, and searching for miniature art installations created by Dunwoody High School students.
According to a release from Active Dunwoody, the scavenger hunt “brings together several of the things that make a community thrive: movement, local businesses, creativity, and connection.”

The Doorwoody Scavenger Hunt is hosted in collaboration with Create Dunwoody, Functionize Health & Physical Therapy, Girls Who Walk, Big Peach Running Co.-Brookhaven, Brookhaven Run Club, and Bhaago Atlanta Run Club.
“We love finding creative ways to get people moving and connected to their community, and this event checks both boxes,” said Lauren Sok, founder of Active Dunwoody and owner of Functionize Health & Physical Therapy. “With the Doorwoody Scavenger Hunt, you can walk or run, solve clues and discover the creative work of Dunwoody’s student artists while exploring our community. That’s what makes community movement so much fun.”
Groups or individuals can participate, Sok told Rough Draft, by finding door art and solving clues for a chance at one of dozens of door prizes provided by local vendors like Prelude Bookstore, Judy & Grace, NFA Burger, and Chupitos Aztec Grille. Beyond Juicery, which recently opened in Dunwoody Village, will be providing free samples, and New Balance shoe representatives will be on hand, along with other vendors, to display their wares.
This is the third scavenger hunt organized by Active Dunwoody and its partners. Sok said she is hoping that the event draws more than 100 people. Participation is free, but individuals and teams are encouraged to register on Eventbrite.
