The Midtown Development Review Committee met Jan. 23 to review the proposal for a multi-story hotel project at the southeast corner of West Peachtree and 15th streets. The project is being developed by North Point Hospitality Group and would be branded as a Hampton Inn & Suites with 152 rooms on 10 floors above eight levels of enclosed parking. The development is a refresh of a project that was presented to the Midtown DRC in 2007 before the recession. The committee recommended design modifications to better integrate the ground-floor restaurant space with outdoor seating and adjacent open space. The developers said they would revise their plans and present them again at a future meeting.
Post Properties and The Preston Partnership will soon begin construction on Midtown Millennium, a 23-story apartment building on the empty lot behind the Federal Reserve. According to What Now Atlanta, the 356-unit project will sit atop seven floors of enclosed parking.  levels of fully-enclosed parking, according to the application. One big perk: it’s literally across the street from the Midtown MARTA rail station.
