The long-running dispute between Turner Field street vendors and city hall got some resolution at this afternoon’s Atlanta City Council meeting. The council voted unanimously to allow 15 vending carts to return to Turner Field this spring, but there will be a lottery to see who gets the coveted spots.

The carts will be set up on city owned property at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Pollard Boulevard near the stadium.

One street vendor who spoke during public comment said business owners would not be able to afford the carts, especially since they will only be good until the Braves move from Turner Field to the new Cobb County stadium in 2017.

Vendors were forced off the streets back in 2013, resulting in court cases and lawsuits.
