The 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartments feature top-end appliances, high-ceilings, hardwood floors, subway tile showers, off-street parking. The rent: $2,150 a month for 1,250 square feet.
“Unfortunately, the preservation of our history and culture is not a foregone conclusion. The reopening of the Daily World Building represents the revitalization of an icon that hung in the balance, and we are all very happy about that. As for being home to the first new apartments along the Atlanta Streetcar line in Sweet Auburn, well that’s just icing on the cake,” says Kansas.
Originally constructed in 1912, the building was home to the oldest African American newspaper in continuous operation in the United States, the Atlanta Daily World, which occupied the building from 1946 through March 2008.
Gene Kansas and his team have created a beautiful space while preserving the building. Awesome Job.
