The Atlanta Police Special Victims Unit is looking for three suspects (sketches above) involved in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old female on Jan. 20 that happened in northwest Atlanta in the Washington Park area. These subjects, however, are known to frequent the Pittsburgh Community in southwest Atlanta. Anyone with information regarding their identities is asked to call Crime Stoppers (404) 577-8477. You can remain anonymous and a reward of up to $2,000 is possible
Residents in Atlanta’s Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhood about illegal dumping of debris near their parks. According to CBS46, mounds of wood chips were dumped at Sunken Garden Park by Expert Tree Service of McDonough. Another large pile of sharp was dumped near the intersection of Wildwood and Sussex, and an investigation is underway by the city to see if another company dumped the chips.
The Zeist Foundation, an Atlanta-based foundation that addresses the needs of at-risk children and families through education, arts and culture and health and human services, is partnering with the Wylde Center on the next phase of development of the Edgewood Community Learning Garden (ECLG). The partners have announced Phase II of an on-site brick dedication project to raise funds for the public greenspace. Individuals, families, businesses and foundations have the opportunity to purchase one or more bricks to be inscribed with one or more names and permanently displayed near a new Community Center at ECLG. Donors may select from three sizes and costs: $25 for a 4 x 8” brick, $50 for an 8 x 8” brick and $75 for a 12 x 12” brick, and may be ordered at this link.
