Channel 2 Action News is reporting that DeKalb Interim CEO Lee May will resign his seat on the County Commission so voters can choose a replacement.
May has called a press conference for Friday morning “to discuss a major announcement,” according to a news release emailed from the county government.
Channel 2 quoted an unnamed source “familiar with May’s intentions” as saying May planned to resign the seat.
The District 5 post May held on the commission has been vacant since his appointment more than a year ago to fill the CEO position. The commission has not chosen a replacement for May. May’s resignation would mean a special election would choose a replacement commissioner, Channel 2 reported.
