The Midtown study come as the Georgia Department of Transportation is about to launch its on study to improve congestion on the Downtown Connector. Strategies under consideration in the GDOT study include the proposed 15th Street HOV Bridge/Interchange, which would provide direct access to and from Midtown for those in a high occupancy vehicle. The interchange would provide access to I-85 and Georgia 400 from the northern part of Midtown and allow for better east-west connectivity.
