The city of Atlanta has indicated it may dump Park Atlanta, the company that issues parking tickets – along with big headaches to drivers.

According to a report from CBS46, Mayor Kasim Reed’s office confirmed that the city will open up the bidding process when Park Atlanta’s contract expires in 2016. There’s no clause for renewal, so Park Atlanta will have to compete to hold onto the lucrative business.

The news is coming right after Parkmobile, the nationally known tech company that Park Atlanta uses to accept payments by phone, announced it’s moving its headquarters to Atlanta.
