The City of Atlanta is close to finalizing a nearly $30 million deal to sell the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center to a retail developer, according to a report from CBS46.

Texas-based Weingarten Realty Investors will convert the 19 acre space into offices, homes, stores and restaurants. The 4,600-seat auditorium and event space built in 1967 on Piedmont Avenue will be torn down.
