Atlanta Police are searching for the suspects who stole a BitCoin ATM from the Village Smoke Shop at 583 Juniper St. in Midtown on Tuesday, Nov. 3, around 10:45 a.m. When confronted by employees, one suspect fired a shot into the floor of the business. The two suspects fled the store with the machine in a late 80’s model red Chevrolet Caviler with an unknown Georgia tag occupied by two other suspects. The suspect vehicle fled east on Linden Avenue from Willow Streets Investigators are hoping someone will recognize the suspects in the video above. Any information on this suspect please contact Det. Little Five Points music venue Variety Playhouse has been sold to Agon Entertainment, who also operate Georgia Theatre in Athens. Argon says it plans to keep VP’s art deco design and update the interior for a more spacious layout, according to a report in Creative Loafing.
The permitting process is underway for the redevelopment of part of the Edgewood-Candler Park MARTA station, according to a report from What Now Atlanta. Columbia Ventures will build a mixed-use development on part of the MARTA parking lot fronting La France Street in the Edgewood neighborhood. Groundbreaking is slated for early 2016 with Phase I planning to be completed by late 2017 with apartments, green space and street-level retail.
