The Community Assistance Center says a group of Dunwoody boy scouts plans to provide a way for you to enjoy the city’s Fourth of July parade and contribute to the CAC’s food pantry at the same time. Just bring your contributions to the parade.
The scouts will be pushing carts in the parade in order to gather canned goods for the food pantry from the people watching the parade, CAC said in a press release. The scouts will collect canned goods such as meats, pasta and vegetables, the CAC said.
About 500 local families go to CAC each month for food assistance, the organization says. The food pantry receives about 1,200 visits a month and all of the food that is distributed is donated.
